MAD Paris Gives Cartier's Ballon Bleu Watch a Baroque "Saint Petersburg" Engraved Makeover

MAD Paris is known for its typically minimalistic customized Rolex and Audemars Piguet watches, however, it has just released its version of Cartier‘s Ballon Bleu watch.
The timepiece features an all-over “Saint Petersburg” engraved design, which reworks the Cartier watch’s stainless steel upper by giving it a baroque look. The outer section of the strap is not engraved, but it has been re-colored just like the rest of the watch to give off a matte finish.
MAD Paris has also customized the face. Cartier famously uses blue sword-shaped hands, but this offering now comes with the reworker’s signature black hands alongside black branding and matching Roman numerals. Rounding out the piece is its guilloché dial, which is concaved to give space for the watch’s center-piece: its winding mechanism.
