Lee Isaac Chung to Direct Makoto Shinkai's 'Your Name.' Hollywood Remake
Bad Robot’s J.J. Abrams, Paramount and Toho will produce the live-action adaptation.

According to reports, Munyurangabo and Minari director Lee Isaac Chung is now slated to direct the Hollywood remake of Makoto Shinkai‘s Your Name. animated film.
Taking on the role originally set for Marc Webb, Chung will be responsible for rewriting and directing Bad Robot’s J.J. Abrams, Paramount Pictures and Toho will produce the live-action adaptation of the Japanese animated romantic fantasy drama. Reports are also noting that Chung will be working off a draft by Emily V. Gordon and a script was originally prepared by Arrival screenwriter Eric Heisserer. It is important to note that Abrams will be producing alongside Genki Kawamura, the producer of the original, and Toho will be responsible for distribution in Japan and Paramount will be taking care of the rest of the world.
