AAPE and 'League of Legends' Prep Camo-Rich Capsule to Launch Exclusive Yasuo Skin
The Prestige Edition True Damage Yasuo skin and genderless wearables are launching this month.
Having already introduced his brother, Yone, League of Legends dev Riot Games is showing more love to Yasuo with a new collaboration with BAPE sub-label AAPE. The duo have prepped a selection of special wearables to accompany a forthcoming Prestige Edition skin for True Damage Yasuo designed to recall the Japanese imprint’s signature streetwear look.
No imagery of the goods has been made available yet, but expect AAPE twists on classic go-to goods: a jacket, hoodie, T-shirt, cargo pant, hat and a special pair of sneakers. This will be accompanied by another special tee showcasing True Damage Yasuo Prestige Edition, which will also launch on Riot Games’ merch site.
According to the press release, True Damage Yasuo “was immediately brought up as a perfect candidate [for the collaborative skin] due to the aesthetic of his original True Damage skin.” Infusing elements of streetwear into his Prestige Edition look, which already includes a zippered jacket, AAPE has emblazoned its logo across the rear of his now-gold layering piece, tucking a branded crossbody bag beneath.
“We’re honored to have been able to work with Riot Games on an in-game partnership, encapsulating our designs and aesthetic permanently into the game in the form of True Damage Yasuo Prestige Edition,” said an AAPE representative in a statement. “We hope we did players justice with an authentic and sleek design that feels good to play and see in-game.”
“We’re thrilled to have partnered with AAPE on this creative and resonant collaboration,” continued Christian Bailey, Director of Consumer Products at Riot Games. “From the skin to the individual pieces of clothing, every element of this partnership felt organic and we really think players will appreciate another way to express their fandom in the form of streetwear.”
Expect more information about the forthcoming collaborative apparel to arrive on AAPE’s website September 18, while League of Legends ought to mark their calendars for September 25, the release date for True Damage Yasuo’s new skin, which will weigh in at 100 in-game Prestige Points.
Most recently, BAPE teased its second Anti Social Social Club collaboration.
