Burberry Expands Scholarship Program to Help Students From Underrepresented Communities
Now available for those studying at Parsons School of Design, Institute Français de la Mode, and Central Saint Martins.
The initiative was initially rolled out at the Royal College of Art, and will now continue to help students of “underrepresented communities” in the field of creative arts. Students of Parsons who are enrolled as graduates of Architectural Design, Interior Design and Fashion Marketing and Communications will be able to be considered for the program, while undergrads at CSM will have to be studying Fashion Design, Textile Design, Jewelry Design, Fashion Communication and Graphic Communication.
For those at Institute Français de la Mode, potential candidates for the program will need to be studying Fashion Design at undergrad level. Eric Bourne, Burberry’s chief people officer, said: “In order to truly diversify the talent we bring into this industry, we have to meaningfully commit to diversifying our talent pipeline… This starts before the workplace, in education…I look forward to seeing how these promising, talented individuals develop into the next generation of creative leaders, bringing their uniqueness to the industry.”
The commitment promises to help more than 50 students over the next five years and beyond, helping to provide more equal access to creative arts programs. You can find out more on Burberry’s website.
