Alicia Keys and the NFL Create $1B USD Fund for Black-Owned Businesses
“I’m always thinking about how I can use my platform to further racial equity.”

Alicia Keys has partnered with the NFL for a $1 billion USD fund going towards Black-owned businesses and communities; Keys also performed at this year’s Kickoff event.
In a statement, Keys emphasized her desire to raise awareness on issues surrounding systematic racism by building something tangible towards it. “As an artist, I’m always thinking about how I can use my platform to further racial equity,” says Keys. “This fund is one of the answers and our goal is to empower Black America through investing in Black businesses, Black investors, institutions, entrepreneurs, schools and banks in a way to create sustainable solutions.” So far, additional partners and benefactors have yet to be named — the fund aims to create a multi-sector contributor field where businesses from different industries are able to invest. Keys hopes to use this fund as a foundation for other businesses to join in by investing “multi-billion-dollar” endowments.
