Adieu Reworks Kickers' Aktive Derby and Aktuelle Loafer With Signature Crepe Sole
A far cry from the school shoes you grew up wearing.

Parisian label Adieu and the heritage French footwear company Kickers have collaborated, introducing three pairs of formal shoes for Fall/Winter 2020.
The collaboration marks Kickers’ 50th anniversary and sees two of its signature silhouettes — the Aktive derby and Aktuelle loafer — get reworked with Adieu’s signature design approach. For example, all three shoes feature a lugged crepe sole unit that’s exclusively made for Adieu, giving the footwear styles a distinct aesthetic.
Adieu’s sole unit is made from micro-cellular foam, a material usually reserved for sports-performance shoes. As a result, the shoes are unexpectedly light, and they also feature a 3mm lift thanks to the crepe pad under the sole which makes for near-silent stepping.
The Aktive derby is available in two versions: “Bordeaux” leather with a cream crepe sole or “Camel” suede with a black crepe sole. Both sport Kickers’ signature green and red tabs on the mid-panels, black rope laces, and an insole printed with information about Kickers’ 50th anniversary.
Last is the Aktuelle loafer. It’s the most understated of the three, and arguably the best. Smooth black leather adds an air of sophistication to the crepe-soled pair, while the two-tone tags remind you these are Kickers and are, as a result, quite fun. Contrasting white stitching around the bottom of the shoe sets the sole and the upper apart, while a tonal eyelet with embossed branding on the heel rounds out the pair.
