adidas Originals Knows Its Superstar Alone "Will Not Save the Planet"
Nor will the accompanying vegan leather Stan Smith, Continental 80, or Supercourt.

adidas Originals continues its vegan leather adventure with the release of four sustainably active sneakers, giving the Stan Smith, Superstar, Continental 80, and the Supercourt an all-white makeover complete with eco-conscious messaging.
On the rear-quarter of each shoe, the sportswear giant has printed the phrase, “This shoe alone will not save the planet.” Elsewhere, adidas Originals adds a “Clean Classics” logo complete with the recycling symbol on the tongue, and continues to brand-up the shoe with more nods to its vegan nature printed on the insole.
All four of these white sneakers are made from vegan leather with a 100 percent recycled polyester lining, and feature outsoles that are made from 90 percent natural rubber and 10 percent waste rubber content. Pairs such as the Superstar also feature a vegan shell-toe, while others such as the Continental 80 sport an algae-based EVA foam midsole, which adidas says “helps clean at least 10 liters of polluted lake water.”
adidas Originals’ sustainably-focused Stan Smith, Superstar, Continental 80, and Supercourt are all available to purchase now from retailers such as Overkill. All four pairs retail for €99 EUR (approx. $117 USD).
