adidas Originals is expanding its City Series division once more with the release of two archived classics, the Japan and the Paris.

The Japan sneaker was originally made for the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo, and returns this season as a like-for-like, premium homage. adidas Originals has crafted the low-profile silhouette from buttery-soft kangaroo leather, coloring it in white and red just like the Japanese flag.

A slim off white sole unit offsets the crips uppers, while large branding in bright green contrasts the entire look. The toe is finished in red suede, which meets the red leather eyestay panel that secures the thin white laces in place. At the rear, you’ll find a leather pull tab, and inside the pair is finished with adidas trefoil logos all over the leather insole.

Joining the Japan is the Paris, which was recently reissued thanks to an END. collaboration. This pair is a one-to-one archival remake from the 1970s, and is once again crafted from premium leather. The Paris comes in blue and red with a white ribbed sole unit, and is finished with traditional gold-toned foil branding and trefoil branding on the heel tabs.

adidas Originals’ City Series Japan retails for £120 GBP (approx. $157 USD), while the Paris retails for £75 GBP (approx. $98 USD). Both can be purchased from Hanon on August 27 via a raffle.

In other news, adidas Originals has also just dropped a quartet of sneakers that pay their love to Tokyo.
