First Socially Distanced Music Festival Set to Take Place in August
Unlocked is set to take place in Northern Ireland across two weekends.
Northern Ireland is set to host the first socially distanced music festival this August, the first in the United Kingdom.
Arranged by the organisers of Stendhal Festival, Unlocked is set to take place over two weekends (August 21-22 and 28-29), with strict rules on hygiene and distances in place as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
While plans are still subject to the government’s policies on mass gatherings come August time, the proposal on the festival’s website notes that they’re aiming for a capacity of between 500 and 1,000 people on the site at any time.
Precautions like temperature checks on entry, and distances across bars, campsites and queuing will be put in place throughout the event, while there will also be hundreds of hygiene stations to stay clean.
A line-up is yet to be announced and a full guide to social distancing is available on the festival website. Points include potential alcohol limitations to ensure rules distancing rules are adhered to and a maximum number of people per tent.
While final details are yet to be confirmed, tickets for Unlocked go on sale from July 4 and will be available via the festival’s website.
