A collaboration no one asked for, yet we’re all happy to see, Jerry Garcia’s estate has worked with KEEN on a collection of four sandals that feature two of late, great musician’s watercolor paintings.

With KEEN’s UNEEK and Newport models serving as the canvases, the first artwork of Garcia’s applied in this series is New York At Night. The second piece used is The Grateful Dead frontman’s 1991 Banyan Tree painting.

Although Garcia is most known for his music, he also attended classes at the San Francisco Art Institute and eventually produced more than 2,000 paintings, sketches and illustrations, many of which are still shown in galleries around the world today.

The Jerry Garcia x KEEN collection releases Saturday, August 1 — Garcia’s would-be 78th birthday — at keenfootwear.com and select KEEN shops around the globe.
