Jaden Smith Debuts New Song "Cabin Fever" and Announces Upcoming Mixtape
A love song for quarantine.
Jaden Smith has returned, premiering his new song “Cabin Fever” produced by BURNS alongside the announcement that his third installment of The Cool Cafe: Cool Tape collection is right around the corner.
“Cabin Fever is my vision of a quarantine love song,” Jaden said in a press statement. “It’s made to be listened to when the sun is setting and you’re feeling good.” The single follows the announcement of his upcoming collaborator with New Balance for his signature Vision Racer sneaker, made of sustainable, vegan-friendly materials. “Cabin Fever” kicks off his next major release, the third installment of his The Cool Cafe: Cool Tape series. Smith first launched that ongoing series in 2012 with volume 1 followed by the sequel in 2014. It will be his first full-length since 2019’s ERYS.
“Internally for me, it doesn’t differ that much because I’m still trying to make the best thing that I’ve ever made,” he revealed to Zane Lowe on Apple Music. “It’s not like, ‘Yo, this is just a mixtape.’ I’m still trying to make the best thing that I’ve ever made. Really the only distinction is the timelines I would say for me personally.”
“It’s like the tape is what makes it clear to my fans that this is coming directly after Cool Tape Volume 2, opposed to coming after ERYS or after SYRE. This is directly after Cool Tape Volume 2, so it’s in that slot. And if you’re a fan of me for a long, long time, you do feel like there is that little gap that we missed where it’s like, ‘You went from “PCH” to “Icon Living”.”
