Havana Club joins forces with the lyrical champion and UK legend Skepta for an exclusive collaboration inspired by the brand's Cuban roots and Skepta's Nigerian heritage.
Laying down the pad and pen, the Boy Better Know artist channels his multifaceted artistic vision into the medium of a new limited-edition Skepta Havana Club 7 rum bottle.

During his travels to Cuba in 2019, Skepta drew deep parallels between the sense of community found within both his Yoruba heritage and the Afro-Cuban spirit. With its West African heritage, Yoruba culture is ingrained throughout Cuban traditions and experienced in the effervescent energy and DIY creative spirit of Cuba, which unites all walks of life. A creative enthusiasm that Skepta also notices exhibited in his own London neighborhood.

These elements of trans-Atlantic culture brought Skepta to the Cuban concept of Aché, a creative, universal energy that brings us all together. The artist translates the notion of Aché into his Havana Club 7 collaboration, with a symbolic bottle design signifying his vision for a global community, embracing creativity, love, and cultural connections.
The latest bottle design features traditional Nigerian cultural cues, incorporating Ewe Oshun leaves used in Yoruba rituals, cowrie shells found in the spiritual statues of Elegua, rounded off with Guiro textiles and Conga drums.
With the aim to support local businesses, the cornerstone of British culture, the limited-edition Havana Club 7 bottle will be dropped exclusively in corner shops in the UK on July 1st. A symbolic location that serves more than the purpose of buying essential goods, corner shops are cultural checkpoints at the core of every community. In other countries, the bottle will be also available on e-commerce platforms from July 1st.
For Havana Club and Skepta, this collaborative bottle campaign all originates from the spirit of Aché, community and togetherness to keep us strong during global uncertainty and unrest.
