Gabriel Garzón-Montano Announces New Album 'Agüita'
The French-Colombian’s followup to 2017’s ‘Jardín.’
Gabriel Garzón-Montano has announced his forthcoming album Agüita with the release of its accompanying music video.
Released on Jagjaguwar in association with Stones Throw, the upcoming release follows his 2017 debut studio album Jardín. Agüita is a journey as seen from the perspectives of a debonair leading man, the wistful impressionist and the Latino Urbano hitmaker — the three separate characters that make up the French-Colombian artist’s personality.
He promises diverse offerings that have no regard for genres, with Garzón-Montano adding, “Genre has never been a consideration. The idea of genre uses fear of failure as a baseline. Genre puts the music in a box. This album is anti-genre. Anti-fear. Anti-box.”
