Casablanca Celebrates Beauty With "After the Rain Comes the Rainbow" SS21 Collection
Introducing an all-new New Balance 327 collaboration.
Casablanca has returned with its Spring/Summer 2021 collection, which made its debut as part of Paris Fashion Week. The collection is titled “After the Rain Comes the Rainbow,” and was designed by creative director Charaf Tajer as a response to events around the world and his “hope to bring some light into the darkness that the world faces right now.”
This influence is referenced through vibrant prints and patterns appearing on silk shirting, scarves and denim pieces, while light knitwear features frequent Casablanca motifs such as oranges and tennis courts. Additionally, SS21 also features the introduction of the Casablanca Surf Club, a nod to Hawaii, where Tajer spent the early part of lockdown.
Other stand-out pieces include linen tailoring and an apres-sport tracksuit constructed from a light technical fabric. Additionally, Casablanca has continued to work with New Balance, debuting a collaborative 327 in either burgundy or off-white. The new footwear collaboration is set to release in early 2021.
Speaking to HYPEBEAST about creating this collection during lockdown, Tajer said, “It did give time to reflect a lot more on life in general, that gave rise I think to ensuring that I deliver something positive and hopeful this forthcoming season.” Expanding on this, Tajer explained that he “wanted to enliven some of what everyone gets to see so we can have some time to reflect in a little beauty.”
