New Official Bob Marley "No Woman No Cry" Video Released for International Reggae Day
Scenes were shot in Jamaica and New York City.
July 1st marks International Reggae Day and in honor of the late, great Bob Marley, an official video has been released for his iconic “No Woman, No Cry” song.
The new video, directed by Kristian Mercado Figueroa, explores family life in both Jamaica and New York City. The family presented in the visual is divided, living in the US and Jamaica but they remain strong as the parents dream of better lives for their children. The situation presented is a father, alone, lives in New York City as a taxi driver. He provides for his two children and wife in their homeland through the earnings he makes. The story is a familiar one across different countries where some families have to make tough sacrifices. Usually a parent must find the means to work far away from home as opportunities and living wages are not available in their homeland.
In other music news, Ty Dolla $ign just released his track “Ego Death” featuring Kanye West, FKA twigs and Skrillex.
