Back in 2019, Swiss luxury brand Bally set out its mountain preservation agenda with the launch of its Peak Outlook initiative. This saw the brand journey on an expedition to the summit of Mount Everest and remove more than one tonne of waste along the way.

Following last year’s launch, the brand has expanded its mountaineering efforts by introducing Bally’s Peak Outlook Foundation, a pledge that commits to cleaning up eight 8,000 meter Himalayan mountains and Japan’s Mount Fuji – as well as building new sustainable trails to access the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.

While a return to Mount Everest this year has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, the brand announced its support for the Himalayan region with a series of expeditions over the course of two years. Collaborating again with Nepalese environmentalist Dawa Steven Sherpa, Bally will clean the basecamps of the region’s eight highest mountains.

Bally will also launch its Peak Outlook Capsule in November, a collection of technical apparel and outdoor equipment that will see 100% of net proceeds go towards these conservation projects.

In other news, U.S. Congress has passed a bill to create a National Museum of the American Latino.
