Acne Studios Enlists Brad Hall to Showcase N3W Transparent Edition Sneaker
The pair shows off its signature pink insoles and comes with special white socks.
Earlier this year, the Swedish label Acne Studios released its vintage running-inspired N3W sneaker. Today, the imprint has announced a new transparent version of the sneaker, and has enlisted the dead-pan footwear reviewer Brad Hall to voice his opinion on the pair.
The Acne Studios N3W Transparent edition features an upper that is completely see-through, showcasing nothing but the brand’s signature pink-and-black branded insoles. Other interesting design elements include being able to see and read the product tag inside the shoe.
Elsewhere, Acne Studios has used transparent stitching and white laces to detail the retro-futuristic runner. The pair sits on top of a lightweight rubber sole unit that sports angular ridges on the midsole. Rounding out the sneaker is a special pair of white socks with black graphics that mimic the bold line accents and the eyelet panel of the first N3W sneaker range.
“I always think about what’s interesting to me about a shoe. And it’s obvious that this shoe is fully transparent. It’s not a new thing to have a translucent or semi-translucent shoe, but the N3W Transparent sneaker takes this even further. And that was the most interesting thing to me. So [with the video] that’s really what I kind of fixated on, and I wanted to do something to honor and explore that,” says Brad Hall.
