Ultimate Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Teased in Video
More power, more aggression, and lots more fun.
Mercedes-AMG has teased automotive enthusiasts around the world with the first look at its GT Black Series. A Black Series badge is, essentially, as ultimate as a Mercedes-Benz can get for a road car, giving the car the most aggressive amount of styling, better performance, and usually, a big price tag to match.
In the video, YouTuber Shmee150, aka Tim Burton, finds the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series in a warehouse. He steals it, taking it for a drive to experience its speed and to capture some pictures. Although no information is told about the car in the video, there is plenty for us to look at.
The new model sports a redesigned front end that references the AMG GT cars that race in the GT3 class. There’s a bigger splitter, canards, and as we work up the car, a new hood with lots of vents with two being defined with exposed carbon fiber segments. Elsewhere, we see a more aggressive side and rear profile, which is mostly aided by the new, and huge, rear wing.
From the video, you can see there is a roll cage and bucket seats inside the car, as well as seat belts running through the seat which nods to the car potentially coming with a harness. As Autoblog reports, the car is likely to keep its twin-turbo 4.0-liter AMG V8 engine, and could produce as much as 720 HP and 627 lb-ft. of torque. Pricing is rumored to be around $283,000 USD.
