This New Balance 996 Combines Soft Suede With CORDURA's Rugged Nylon
Exclusively for Journal Standard in Japan.

Japanese clothier Journal Standard, known for its vast array of modernized staples, returns to our digital pages to unveil a special edition New Balance 996 made with soft suede and CORDURA nylon.
As seen in the shots above, this CM996 is luxe and rugged. Painted with a tonal charcoal color that appears more like a faded black, the collaborative sneaker features a suede material throughout its upper, mixed with CORDURA’s durable nylon on the toe, ankle collar and tongue areas. A soft leather is then applied to the heel, along with a tan hairy suede tongue patch that nods to the model. Other details include a blue insole, white midsole and a small “New Balance” tag on the toe.
This New Balance CM996 is currently available for preorder at Journal Standard’s webstore with a delivery confirmed for late July. Although a Stateside release in unlikely, you can shop current 996 styles at NewBalance.com.
