Our weekly roundup of the best sneaker releases is back — and arguably better than ever, with new Air Jordans, striking Nike Sportswear styles and some high-tech lifestyle kicks from adidas. Although there are events much more immediate than sneaker releases currently occurring, they’re solace for those of us that love footwear: a symbol of normalcy in these uncharted-yet-empowering times. Before we dive into a dozen dashing drops, let’s take a crash course on everything that went down over the last seven days.

Leading things off on the exclusive feature front, HYPEBEAST spoke to James Whitner — founder of The Whitaker Group, a conglomerate consisting of noted boutiques Social Status and A Ma Maniére — about his forthcoming expansion into Harlem, Detroit and Baltimore and his plans to bring knowledge and prosperity to each city’s Black community. We also offered a closer look at one of the summer’s most highly-anticipated drops: the Nike Dunk Low SP “Varsity Red.”

From a business standpoint, adidas pledged a handsome $120,000,000 USD to Black community-based organizations over the next ten years, following fierce backlash from employees over its diversity and inclusion measures. For the second year in a row, Nike was forced to cancel an Air Force 1 “Puerto Rico,” this time due to the country’s flag mistakenly being placed backwards on its tongue.

Kanye West and the adidas YEEZY line saw the spotlight in both an official and somewhat unofficial sense. West announced a tentative release date for the YEEZY Foam Runner during an interview with Pharrell for i-D Magazine, and dog brand Fresh Pawz made a YEEZY BOOST 350 V2-inspired “Beluga 544” bootie for sneakerheads’ four-legged friends.

Elsewhere, atmos gave us a closer look at Nike’s upcoming Dunk Low “Champ Colors,” Dior’s Thibo Denis premiered a brand-new jelly sandal, size? announced its exclusive drops for June, Bodega premiered a collaborative New Balance X-Racer, and BAIT rolled out its Toy Story-themed Reebok Instapump Fury.

All caught up? Let’s dive into a dozen of the very best releases from this Monday to Saturday. Please note that there have been several postponements and over the last few weeks, and there’s a possibility that more will occur this week as well. See all twelve styles below, and head over to our Drops page for more impending product.

Nike LeBron 17 Low “Multicolor”

Release Date: June 15
Release Price: $150 USD
Where to Buy: Nike and Foot Locker
Why You Should Cop: The postponement of this summer’s Olympic Games means that athletic footwear brands are sitting on a glut of Games-themed product, one piece of which is Nike’s LeBron 17 Low “Multi-Color.” A simple black base serves as a canvas for crisp Olympic ring-colored accents on heels, tongues and quarters alike, making for an understated homage to international athletic competition. The “Multicolor” has been available at Eastern stockists for almost a month, but this marks its stateside debut.

Nike Air Max 90 “Orange Duck Camo”

Release Date: June 16
Release Price: $150 USD
Where To Buy: Nike SNKRS UK
Why You Should Cop: The most hunt-ready “Duck Camo” style yet thanks to its blaze orange base color, Nike’s Air Max 90 “Orange Duck Camo” is following in the footsteps of March’s flipped “Reverse Duck Camo” and May’s vivid “Green Duck Camo.” It’ll continue the Air Max 90’s 30th anniversary celebration when it releases in Europe this week, and you can expect a stateside arrival in coming weeks as well.

KENZO x Vans Floral Collection

Release Date: June 17
Release Price: TBC
Where to Buy: KENZO and SSENSE
Why You Should Cop: KENZO is known for its bold prints and patterns, so the Felipe Oliveira Baptista-lead brand has tapped into its half-century deep archive to pull archival floral prints for a new Vans collaboration. With three iterations of the Old Skool and three of Sk8-Hi, the collection’s six total styles combine flamboyant Japanese luxury with classic American skate edginess.

Nike Blazer Mid ‘77 Vintage and Sky Force 3/4 “Red & Blue”

Release Date: June 17
Release Price: $120 USD (Blazer)/$110 USD (Sky Force)
Where to Buy: Nike SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: A colorful, reptilian yin and yang is front and center on Nike’s Blazer Mid ‘77 Vintage and Sky Force 3/4 “Red & Blue.” The former silhouette is an undeniable modern-day lifestyle favorite while the latter is gaining traction thanks to its unique cut and reasonable price point — but both of these onetime basketball sneakers offer the same flair with their alternating snakeskin Swooshes.

Air Jordan 6 “Hare”

Release Date: June 17
Release Price: $190 USD
Where to Buy: Nike SNKRS and Foot Locker
Why You Should Cop: One of many postponed releases hitting shelves this week, the Air Jordan 6 “Hare” is the latest amalgamation of Hare Jordan and Air Jordan. Drawing heavily from the legendary Air Jordan 7 “Hare,” these mischievous kicks offer a recognizable color scheme and a unique tongue construction with a translucent print for a new take on an old favorite.

Nike Adapt Auto Max “Anthracite”

Release Date: June 18
Release Price: $400 USD
Where to Buy: Nike SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: There’s nothing on the market quite like Nike’s Adapt Auto Max. With power-lacing tech and a look seemingly pulled straight out of a sci-fi movie, it’s an undeniably unique, poignantly powerful sneaker — one that’s now releasing in “Anthracite.” Blending black tones on its sleek upper and a vivid print on its thick Air Max-equipped midsole, the Adapt Auto Max “Anthracite” is a style that’ll delight conceptual shoe lovers and tech geeks alike.

Reebok Question Low “Vivid Orange” & “Fluid Blue”

Release Date: June 18
Release Price: $120 USD
Where to Buy: Reebok and Foot Locker
Why You Should Cop: The duality of Allen Iverson is on full display with Reebok’s Question Low “Vivid Orange” and “Fluid Blue.” Even though Iverson was known to heat up quickly, pouring in bunches of buckets, the man they call the Answer always had ice in his veins, no matter how much pressure was applied. The “Vivid Orange” offers sweltering accents while the “Fluid Blue” keeps things cool, simultaneously showing both the yin and yang of Iverson and the versatility of his most famous signature sneaker.

adidas ZX 2K 4D “Core Black”

Release Date: June 19
Release Price: $200 USD
Where to Buy: adidas
Why You Should Cop: The most straightforward style of adidas’s ZX 2K 4D yet, the “Core Black” is perfect for those who want to explore the new silhouette but are looking for something a touch more subtle than the loud inaugural makeups. With an upper borrowed from the ZX line and a signature 4D-printed “Aero Green” midsole, the design melds past, present and future in signature adidas Originals style. It’s also much more affordable than most past 4D kicks, arriving at $200 USD.

Nike Air Max 90, Air Max Plus and Air Max 270 React “Supernova 2020” Pack

Release Date: June 19
Release Price: TBC
Where to Buy: Foot Locker
Why You Should Cop: Arriving alongside a women’s P(HER)SPECTIVE pack, Foot Locker has prepared a “Supernova 2020” set of Air Maxes. Made up of galaxy-printed takes on the Air Max 90, Air Max Plus and Air Max 270 React, the “Supernova 2020” pack’s astronomy-geared styles are locked in by star prints, metallic embellishments and beloved Air Max cushioning units.

Air Jordan 1 High Zoom “Brut”

Release Date: June 20
Release Price: $175 USD
Where to Buy: Sneakersnstuff
Why You Should Cop: Officially known as “Rage Green” and unofficially known as “Brut,” Jordan Brand’s latest Air Jordan 1 High Zoom pulls inspiration from a memorable Nike SB Dunk High that released in 2007. Blending skate and hoops, it uses green suede and black leather on its upper. The look is then completed by silver Swooshes and a colorful outsole housing a full-foot Zoom Air cushioning system that’ll keep you feeling just as fresh as you look all day long. It’s set to release exclusively at EU retailers, and will likely arrive stateside soon.

Air Jordan 4 “Metallic Red”

Release Date: June 20
Release Price: $190 USD
Where to Buy: Nike SNKRS GB
Why You Should Cop: Even the best-laid plans don’t work out sometimes, and due to the turbulent nature of 2020, Jordan Brand’s Air Jordan 4 “Metallic” pack has seen a months-long staggered set of occasionally confusing region-specific releases. Now, however, it’s finally set to conclude with the arrival of the “Metallic Red” at European stockists. With a crisp white upper and metallic red details, these potent lifestyle Jordans offer cool summertime style with just enough hot accents to add flair.

Air Jordan 5 “Top 3”

Release Date: June 20
Release Price: $200
Where to Buy: Foot Locker, Finish Line and 43einhalb
Why You Should Cop: An Air Jordan 5 lover’s dream, the Air Jordan 5 “Top 3” combines pieces of “Grape,” “Metallic Silver” and “Fire Red” AJ5 colorways for a three-pronged homage look. “Grape” tongues and “Fire Red” midsoles provide vibrance, while the black suede upper found on the “Metallic Silver” brings everything together. Signature Nike Air graphics are served on the heel as well, providing a detail purists are sure to appreciate. The “Top 3” released in Europe last week, but this week marks its previously-postponed US debut.
