Main Cast of 'The Lord of the Rings' to Hold Virtual Reunion
“I come back to you now, at the turn of the tide.”
The complete cast of J.R.R Tolkien and Peter Jackson‘s The Lord of the Rings trilogy is set to reunite for Josh Gad’s online series, Reunited Apart.
Appearing in the upcoming episode is the main cast of The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King: Elijah Wood (Frodo), Sean Astin (Samwise Gamgee), Sir Ian McKellen (Gandalf), Andy Serkis (Gollum), Dominic Monaghan (Merry Brandybuck), Billy Boyd (Pippin Took), Orlando Bloom (Legolas), Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn), Sean Bean (Boromir), John Rhys-Davies (Gimli), Liv Tyler (Arwen), Miranda Otto (Eowyn) and Karl Urban (Eomer), along with Jackson himself and writer Philippa Boyens.
Gad shared a teaser of the upcoming reunion that showed the Hobbits — Wood, Astin, Monaghan and Boyd — with Bloom. As Wood proclaims he wishes the COVID-19 pandemic never happened, McKellen enters the call with an iconic and timely Gandalf quote: “So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.”
