Hender Scheme whet fans’ appetite for handmade leather goods with its DIY coin bank and house slipper sets, and the Japanese company is now serving up its main course for Fall/Winter 2020. Dubbed “LIFE,” Hender Scheme’s latest collection delivers another array of clever footwear, home goods, accessories and wearables, with old favorites mingling with new must-haves.
Best known overseas for its inimitable footwear designs, the Japanese imprint’s new collection doesn’t hold back. Some particularly quirky silhouettes are on hand for FW20, including the two-way “Moor” sneaker, which comes with a removable cage, Fidlock-buckle-equipped “Fidmonk” shoes, the de-laceable “Self Lace Mocca” and the fur-laden “Hairy Mop.” Along with returning designs, there’s also Manual Industrial Products 23, Hender Scheme’s newest Homage silhouette, which pays tribute to the Jack Purcell.
A vast assortment of wallets, accessories and bags of all sizes fill out the offering, abetted by leather-wrapped beakers, flasks and petri dishes, all intended to hold flowers. The hefty “Picnic Bag” takes cues from IKEA‘s signature shopper, while various keychains are swathed in leather for heightened grip and style. Minute wallets and pouches feature Hender Scheme branding, which also graces premium iPhone cases.
More handmade leather footwear is launching elsewhere in Japan with visvim’s black Shaman-Folk Christo sandals.
