'Parasite' Producer CJ to Develop English Remake of Cult Korean Movie 'Save The Green Planet!'
Tapping ‘Midsommar’ and ‘Hereditary’ duo Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen.
Following the wild success of Parasite, the producer behind Bong Joon-ho‘s Oscar-winning film is now developing an English remake of cult Korean movie Save The Green Planet!
Adding to its growing series of English-language originals and remakes of Korean titles, CJ will be financing and producing the film alongside Midsommar and Hereditary duo Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen’s Square Peg production house.
Tapping into the interest in genre-bending films, Save The Green Planet! originally released back in 2003 as an off-beat, black comedy-sci-fi mashup. The film’s original writer-director Joon-hwan Jang will be returning for the remake centered around a man who believes the world is on the brink of an alien invasion. In a bid to save Earth, the man begins the wild chronicle by confusingly kidnapping his boss.
