A Closer Look at the Nike Air Fear of God 1 "Noir"
Detailed on and off-foot shots of Jerry Lorenzo and Nike’s latest.
After Jerry Lorenzo officially announced his Nike Air Fear of God 1 “Noir” with a quarantine-appropriate lookbook shot through videoconferencing service Zoom, we now have a detailed look at the monochromatic high top. Co-designed by Lorenzo and Leo Chang — the man responsible for much of Kevin Durant‘s signature Nike Basketball line — the Air FOG 1 combines hoops and luxury inspiration in equal measures, an ethos that’s on full display with this stark “Noir” colorway.
Constructed of black ballistic mesh and suede, the uppers add signature detailing by way of a latticed black TPU midfoot cage. This cage reaches from midfoot heel to provide structure, and also serves as eyestays for the thick rope laces. Branding is kept to a minimum, with a single Swoosh appearing on this cage’s forefoot and a Nike Sportswear-style Swoosh-plus-text hit on the heel. Textile tongue tabs run from toebox to front collar, and a heavy-gauge zipper on the heel ensures an easy fit.
Thick black midsoles equip military-style embossed text on the midfoot, while the heel showcases a smoky black Zoom Air unit that’s double-stacked for extra comfort. A translucent Swoosh-equipped piece on the outsole provides the only divergence from the all-black look, showing off the shoe’s Zoom tech in understated fashion. Premium perforated leather insoles with a coral tint complete the look.
This all-black version of Fear of God and Nike‘s most famous collaborative silhouette is set for an April 25 release on Nike SNKRS, and will retail for $350 USD.
