Louis Vuitton Preps Rainbow-Hued Pre-Collection FW20 Monogram Capsule
Virgil Abloh oversees a sunny selection of seasonal menswear.

First seen as part of the SS20 Taïgarama collection, Louis Vuitton has now introduced its entire Pre-Collection Fall/Winter 2020 ready-to-wear menswear capsule. Launching in time for summer, despite the FW20 nod in the seasonal denotation, the Virgil Abloh-directed designs are warm weather-ready.
Less posh than the NIGO-affiliated LV² range and beachier than Spring/Summer 2020, the Pre-Collection Fall/Winter 2020 selection is rife with accessible silhouettes emblazoned with bold monogram graphics. Taking cues from pop art colors, the capsule boasts washed-out prints and stylized branding atop neutral anoraks, slouchy tees and trim shorts, the latter offering both all-over patterns and tonal orange. Bucket hats and trek-friendly footwear align with crisp white shirting and intarsia sweaters to create a high-low juxtaposition, a neat coalescence of Abloh’s design ethos.
Look for the entire summer capsule to arrive on Louis Vuitton’s web store in April, along with physical boutiques after reopening from quarantine.
Currently, Louis Vuitton is developing both hospital gowns and medical face masks for health professionals battling COVID-19.
