'Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark' to Receive Sequel

Guillermo del Toro and André Øvredal’s Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is getting a sequel.

According to reports, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark 2 will be based on a story by del Toro. The plot specifics, cast members and other details are yet to be revealed, but it’s been confirmed that del Toro, Øvredal and original writers Dan and Kevin Hageman will all be returning.

The first installment of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark premiered in Summer 2019 and grossed $105 million USD worldwide. Starring Zoe Colletti, Michael Garza, Gabriel Rush, Austin Zajur, Natalie Ganzhorn, Austin Abrams, Dean Norris, Gil Bellows and Lorraine Toussaint, the film was based on Alvin Schwartz’s children’s book series of the same name.

In other entertainment news, Sony has announced new release dates for Spider-Man 3 and Into the Spider-Verse 2.
