With the extended Easter weekend in the rearview mirror, there’s a bountiful haul of footwear drops on the way. However, plenty went down in the world of sneakers last week — so let’s take a quick refresher before we dive into what’s in store for us, the sneaker-loving general populace, between now and Saturday.

Quarantine and self-isolation are the norm around the globe, so HYPEBEAST explored the best ways to stay connected to sneaker culture from the comfort of your home with a “How to Sneakerhead at Home” feature. Although Easter is indeed behind us there’s still plenty of pastels left, and we rounded up the 12 best Easter-themed sneakers on the market as well.

On the celebrity front, nobody made more noise than Virgil Abloh. The best look yet at his Off-White™ x Air Jordan 1 “Canary Yellow” drove OW and JB fans alike into a frenzy. That was just part of Abloh’s overpowering salvo: a “Sail” style of the Off-White™ x Air Jordan 5 was reported for a release later this year, and Abloh also took a break from his jazz DJ sets to interact with fans on Twitter, providing updates on other upcoming Nike projects.

Abloh’s good friends, Kanye West, Jerry Lorenzo and Justin Saunders, had their respective moments at the proverbial microphone as well. West was spotted in a new YEEZY Season 8 boot and his YEEZY 700 MNVN was revealed in a “Navy” colorway. Lorenzo adapted to quarantine in clever fashion, tapping Australian photographer Pierre Toussaint to shoot a remote lookbook for the Nike Air Fear of God 1 “Noir” through videoconferencing service Zoom. JJJJound founder Saunders continued his mastery of minimalism, teasing collaborations with New Balance and Reebok.

Elsewhere, UNheardof and STBG raffled off a bespoke pair of Nike SB Dunk Low “Nasty Boys,” with profits providing meals to Cincinnati-area healthcare workers. Brain Dead head honcho Kyle NG teased a fuzzy Reebok Classic collaboration, and BEAMS presented a pack of Crocs inspired by fishing vests and cobra buckles. Nike made a non-collaborative push with two resonant rumors: that the Air Max 95 “Neon” would return this fall to celebrate its 25th anniversary and the resurgent Dunk Low would release in “University Orange/Marine.”

Caught up? Let’s get into a dozen of this week’s best options. At risk of sounding like a broken record — or, to put it in sneaker terms, a punctured Air Max unit — please note that potential COVID-19 coronavirus-related release delays are an unfortunate reality of the modern-day sneaker market. Therefore, some of these arrivals may very well be delayed. See the list below, and for a full slate of arrivals be sure to head over to our Drops page as well.

Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 “Track Red” & “Smoke Grey”

Release Date: April 13 (US)/April 18 (Other)
Release Price: $140 USD (Each)
Where to Buy: Nike and END.
Why You Should Cop: If the hype surrounding Stüssy’s duo of collaborative makeups was any indication, Nike’s Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 is set to be a spring/summer smash. Now, its in-line rollout is beginning with “Track Red” and “Smoke Grey” styles. Each offers bold hues plus sleek mesh uppers, and is completed with a dashing visible Zoom unit ensconced in a TPU heel cage. Note that this release is staggered: these Spiridons hit Japan on April 12 and will debut in most other regions on April 18.

Nike Blazer Mid ‘77 Vintage “Red Sketch” & “Black Sketch”

Release Date: April 13
Release Price: ¥12,100 JPY (approximately $112 USD)
Where to Buy: Nike SNKRS JP
Why You Should Cop: Perfectly imperfect in their scribbled stylings, the Nike Blazer Mid Vintage ‘77 “Red Sketch” and “Black Sketch” bring a little conceptual flair to a beloved basketball-turned-lifestyle silhouette. With altered Swooshes and plentiful text hits on top of a classic base, this dashing duo puts process and product together in an undeniably appealing fashion.

Nike Air Max 95 “Greedy”

Release Date: April 15
Release Price: ¥19,000 JPY (approximately $175 USD)
Where to Buy: atmos and Nike SNKRS JP
Why You Should Cop: Offering a joyful jumble of OG Air Max 95 colorways, the Nike Air Max 95 “Greedy” is a heartfelt homage to the Sergio Lozano-designed masterpiece on its 25th birthday. From “Aqua” to “Hot Red” and “Volt,” all the classic styles are back to celebrate a quarter century, and like 2015’s “Greedy,” this party is one that’s not for the faint of heart.

Air Jordan 4 “Do the Right Thing”

Release Date: April 16
Release Price: $190 USD
Where to Buy: Nike SNKRS and Foot Locker
Why You Should Cop: Although this colorful Air Jordan 4 is officially known as the “Lucid Green” or “Rasta,” sneakerheads have dubbed it “Do The Right Thing” en masse, and it’s easy to see why. A bright nod to Spike Lee’s 1989 masterpiece Do The Right Thing, the design’s accents promote peace, love and positivity. It’s a women’s release, but will be available in an extended size run.

Nike Zoom KD 13 “Black/White”

Release Date: April 17
Release Price: $160 USD
Where to Buy: Nike and Finish Line
Why You Should Cop: The NBA season may have ground to a standstill, but just like the consistent scorer it was designed for the Nike KD 13 is still getting buckets. After a gaudy “Hype” makeup last week, Kevin Durant’s latest signature shoe is back in an all-business “Black/White,” complete with an adaptive fit and potent double-stacked Zoom Air cushioning in the forefoot.

Mountain Research x Reebok DMX Trail Shadow

Release Date: April 17
Release Price: $180 USD
Where to Buy: Mountain Research
Why You Should Cop: Anarchists, mountain climbing and conceptual design aren’t three things that would normally be brought together, but Mountain Research isn’t a “normal” brand, and that’s proven in spades on its new Reebok DMX Trail Shadow collaboration. Devoid of flashy branding and coated in carmel-toned colors that let its crampon-inspired cage shine, this Trail Shadow is half street-ready shoe, half mountain-ready spike and totally unique. This week’s drop is exclusive to Mountain Research, and a global release will follow next week — so you’ll likely see ‘em on the next iteration of this list as well.

Nike LeBron 17 “Command Force”

Release Date: April 17
Release Price: $200 USD
Where to Buy: Nike and Foot Locker
Why You Should Cop: LeBron James’s signature line has often saluted his favorite Swoosh silhouettes, and the King is continuing that run with these Command Force-inspired LeBron 17s. Thanks to an early ’90s color scheme and alternate tongue branding, LBJ’s newest signature silhouette would make White Men Can’t Jump‘s Billy Hoyle proud — and is equally as apt for running the hardwood as it is hustling on the blacktop at Venice Beach.

Nike LeBron 17 Low “Black/White/Gold”

Release Date: April 17
Release Price: $180 USD
Where to Buy: Finish Line
Why You Should Cop: Black, white and gold palettes have long been a staple of the Nike LeBron line, but this seemingly familiar makeup of the LeBron 17 Low holds some special meaning. If you peer into the insole you’ll notice a sheriff’s badge, a humorous nod to LeBron’s 2017 “beef” with Sir Charles Barkely, which ended decisively when King James declared “I’m tired of biting my tongue. There’s a new sheriff in town.” You may not be able to lay down the law like LBJ, but at least you can rock his kicks.

adidas YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 “Linen”

Release Date: April 18
Release Price: $220 USD
Where to Buy: YEEZY Supply
Why You Should Cop: A true modern-day classic, the YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 is set for its April debut with a “Linen” style. Using one of the softest tan shades we’ve seen on a 350 V2 yet, the “Linen” also provides contrast with a gray reflective post-dyed monofilament and gray trim around the collar. In a nutshell, it’s perfect for lampin’ and lounging just like its namesake material.

Casablanca x New Balance 327

Release Date: April 18
Release Price: $150 USD
Where to Buy: New Balance
Why You Should Cop: Scheduled to release at the top of the month but delayed by two weeks, Casablanca and New Balance’s highly anticipated 327s are finally set to release. Drawing from Casablanca founder’s Charaf Tajer’s dual French-Moroccan heritage, both pairs salute an important piece of Moroccan culture: “Green/Orange” acknowledges sweet oranges and “Green” salutes traditional tennis uniforms. Finishing touches are provided by supple white leather bases that nod to the luxury of Italian sports cars. It’s true: good things do come to those who wait.

Air Jordan 6 “DMP”

Release Date: April 18
Release Price: $200 USD (Men’s)/$140 USD (Kids)/$80 USD (Preschool)/$60 USD (Toddlers)
Where to Buy: Nike SNKRS and Foot Locker
Why You Should Cop: It’s been 14 long years since the Air Jordan 6 “DMP” released as part of the iconic Defining Moments Pack, and it’s set to return for the first time ever this Saturday — in full family sizes, nonetheless. Kitted out in an opulent black/gold colorway, offering a signature gold #23 on the heel and adorned with a metallic hangtag, these championship-worthy AJ6s are a must-cop for any Air Jordan aficionado.

Converse GLF Gianno Ox “Parfait Pink” & “Skylight”

Release Date: April 18
Release Price: $130 USD
Where to Buy: END.
Why You Should Cop: Ever irreverent and eternally whimsical, Tyler, The Creator is one of the most extraordinary personalities in the world of music today. His signature Converse footwear certainly follows his lead, and the GLF Gianno Ox is no exception. The first original silhouette Tyler has ever created, it’s back for its second round on the market with new “Parfait Pink” and “Skylight” makeups, each of which uses welcoming springtime pastels for a happy-go-lucky look.
