Thom Browne Disguises Its Footwear as Sports Balls
Arriving as the Football Oxford & Tennis Ball Slip-On.
After channeling American sports in its past carrying accessories, Thom Browne is back — this time disguising its footwear as balls from some of America’s favorite sports.
Arriving as the Thom Browne Brown Football Oxfords and Yellow Flannel Slip-On Loafers, the former sees the resemblance of the classic pigskin football while the later is dressed in a fluffy lime-green flannel that resembles that of a tennis ball.
The Oxford is made from brown pebbled calfskin and sees buffed white leather trimming. The almond toe design is finished with a stacked heel, leather outsole, and TB’s signature grosgrain pull loop. The Slip-On loafer sneakers feature curved leather trim to mimic the tennis ball’s parametric seams near the round toe. The loafer is finished with elasticized gussets at the side, a white rubber sole, and a tricolor grosgrain pull tab.
