Royal Canadian Mint Creates First-Ever Diamond-Shaped Coin
Featuring a real diamond.
The Royal Canadian Mint has created yet another truly unique collectible coin. From glow-in-the-dark dinosaurs to a 3D Optimus Prime coin, the RCM has no boundaries in terms of what they can use as a source of inspiration for minting.
The latest Canadian creation sees a three-way collaboration with Crossworks Manufacturing and Forevermark diamonds — the worlds first diamond-imbued, diamond-shaped silver coin. The coin features 3 oz. of 99.999% pure silver, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II portrait by Susanna Blunt, and the highlight of the coin, a 0.20-carat square-cut diamond from the (now closed) Victor Mine in Northern Ontario.
Taking over one year to design and manufacture, this luxurious collectible coin can be found over at the Royal Canadian Mint for a price of $1,499 CAD (approximately $1,122 USD). Only 700 examples will be minted.
