Nike Introduces Free Run 5.0 for 2020 With New Knit Upper and Stiffer Midsole
Optimized for short-distance runs.
Nike continues to raise the bar for its technical runners, introducing its brand new Free Run 5.0 for 2020. The silhouette is the latest breakthrough in Nike’s Free Run line, engineered with a tight-knit structure and seamless design for a fit that maximizes both comfort and flexibility. According to Nike, the design is much lighter than the previous generations and offers a distinctive “barefoot” feel made for short-distance runs.
Coming in three bold colorways, “Black/White,” “Dark Smoke Gray/Cerulean” and “Smoke gray/Volt,” each sneaker comes with a mix of materials that give the shoe a sleek and structured look. Starting at the top of the sneaker is a breathable tongue, constructed with a special non-stretch knit material that keeps your feet steady for full control — the material covers the central forefoot and spills over to the medial sides. A large Swoosh is placed at the sidewalls over batted materials that stretch from the rear to the toebox, while subtle foam pods are placed at the heel for enhanced stability. All of these details sit above an articulated midsole, equipped with dual cuts at the instep and heel for impact reduction and flexibility.
All three colorways of Nike’s 2020 Free Run 5.0 are currently available on Nike’s website for $110 USD.
