JME Shares Nostalgic BTS Footage in Visual for "96 of My Life"
One of the icon’s ‘Grime MC’ highlights.
Legendary Boy Better Know co-founder JME dropped off his latest studio album Grime MC late last year, garnering rave reviews from the grime community and critics alike for being content conscious yet exceedingly fun and witty. Now the underground rapstar has returned with a visual for one of the album’s highlights, “96 of My Life.”
The song itself remains a literary depiction of JME’s progression through life, speaking on the challenges he endured during his childhood up until the successes he’s scored with his present musical career. “Boy Better Know editions 1 to 3, man just about scraped a degree/’Graduation day, where were you?,’ that’s right JME didn’t pass through/Badman don’t need no ceremony, like Ryu on Street Fighter II,” he raps on the track. The visuals echo these nostalgic underpinnings, showcasing JME in various behind-the-scenes footage and photos from different parts of his life, including footage of him playing as Ryu on Street Fighter II.
