Children of the Discordance Reworks Vintage Bandanas, Stüssy & More For DSM Ginza
Hand graffiti-painted deadstock military garments also appear.
Dover Street Market Ginza has released an exclusive Spring/Summer 2020 collection from Children of the Discordance.
The collection is comprised of a concho jacket, shirts, pants, and bucket hats that sport a design never used by Children of the Discordance before. The pieces are made from U.S. and European bandanas from the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s, coming together as a patchwork on signature pieces such as the multicolored and multi-patterned shirt.
Children of the Discordance’s concho jacket appears in both red and blue iterations, and is meticulously crafted to drape from the shoulders, adding volume and a flowy nature to the piece. Bucket hats are finished with clean stitching and metal side eyelets, while trousers are given a relaxed cut.
Alongside the bandana pieces is a selection of hand graffiti-painted deadstock military garments, and an array of reconstructed vintage T-shirts — namely pieces from Stüssy, which now appear as patchwork hoodies and restitched T-shirts.
