Marvel Shares Release Dates for 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' & 'WandaVision'
The first MCU show arrives this summer.
During the big Super Bowl LIV game, Disney+ and Marvel finally gave fans a first real look at its upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe TV shows such as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision and Loki.
Following a few speculative release dates, Bob Iger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company confirmed the aforementioned Marvel shows will be debuting earlier than expected during the company’s Q1 FY20 Earnings call on Tuesday night. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will release in August 2020, ahead of its previously believed fall 2020 window, while WandaVision is set to land in December 2020, moved up from its original 2021 release.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will take place after the events of Avengers: Endgame and will see Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) taking on the mantle of Captain America. Sebastian Stan as Cap’s good-turned-evil-turned-good again BFF, Bucky Barnes, will also have a prominent role in the series. Emily VanCamp also returns as Sharon Carter and Daniel Brühl as the villain, Zemo.
WandaVision will center around the relationship between Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff and Paul Bettany as Vision. Unfortunately no date has been set for Loki, however the show is expected to arrive sometime in 2021.
