Kansas City Chiefs Best the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl LIV
Securing a 31-20 come from behind victory.
After falling behind in the first three quarters, the Kansas City Chiefs incredibly made a comeback to beat the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 at Super Bowl LIV.
50 years since the last time the Chiefs became Super Bowl Champions, the Kansas City team shook things up at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium with their come from behind victory. Heading into the fourth quarter trailing 10 points, the Chiefs led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes scored three touchdowns in just five minutes of play. Integral in breaking down the 49ers defense, Mahomes at 24 years of age was named Super Bowl LIV’s Most Valuable Player, making him the youngest post-season MVP ever.
Despite controlling most of the game, San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was forced into a series of bad plays by the Chiefs’ defense leading into their victorious rally. A final interception from Kendall Fuller with 57 seconds left to play secured the Kansas City Chiefs win, with head coach Andy Reid being doused in orange Gatorade for his first-ever Super Bowl Championship.
