Engineered Garments Drop Graphic-Heavy Exclusives at Isetan Shinjuku
In collaboration with artists Kenzo Minami, Mike Ming and Gaku Inada.
Shortly after unveiling its SS20 collection under its Workaday line, Engineered Garments has returned with another bold project, this time in the form of an exclusive capsule to be held at Isetan Shinjuku by way of the label’s shop-in-shop at the retailer. Accompanying the capsule is a short film titled CITY NO END, created by collaborative partner Gaku Inada.
The latest range includes graphic tees, hoodies and sweaters made in collaboration with artists Kenzo Minami, Mike Ming and the aforementioned Inada. One standout piece is a T-shirt emblazoned with vivid artwork by Minami. It sees a flaming wheel embellished with skeleton motifs and different stages of an eclipse that circle around a face in the center — the same print is seen on a gray and black crewneck sweater. Another highlight is a hoodie with a vivid collage of motifs that reference bustling New York City, while the words “CITY NO END” is juxtaposed next to a clock. The hoodie sees the image in a glossy black vinyl print, with the phrase repeated at the back. Other pieces like the MIS leopard print tote bags, “Lobster Claw Shaka” tee and a set of tees and hoodies detailed with hazy spray paint art round up the concise assemblage.
