The Alchemist never sleeps. It was only two weeks ago that the legendary producer released a total of 47 new tracks with his The Good Book Parts 1 & 2 projects featuring the likes of Action Bronson, Prodigy, Roc Marciano, Mach Hommy and more. Now Alan The Chemist is back for his upcoming collaborative tape with Detroit street rap veteran Boldy James in The Price of Tea in China, out February 7 via ALC Records. The latest single, “Scrape The Bowl,” is the perfect canvas for Boldy and Benny The Butcher to highlight the drug route from Detroit to Buffalo to New York City and back.

The Alchemist’s signature ominous echoing piano chords scatter in the background while church bells are a nice reminder of the grave details of the two rappers’ pasts hustling to get to where they are now. “Now we on the road, 36 o’s wrapped up in paper towels/ My witness didn’t show up to court, the judge he had to wait in trial/ They say I got a morbid sense of humor but that made me smile/ Shout out to my shooter, when he drill you that’s a flagrant foul,” Boldy raps. Both artists are at their respective best with a dedication to the details.

“This for the money, the hundreds left in the basement/ The stash box we only touch in special occasions/ Y’all not up ’cause y’all do it just to get famous/ The plug hit me back and I been destined for greatness,” Benny The Butcher finishes his verse which also includes a reference to Drake’s OVO imprint and a not-so-subtle dig at award shows mentality.
