Virgil Abloh‘s Off-White™ is joining various luxury fashion houses, designers, and contemporary artists in Christie’s auction “Bid for the Louvre” by showcasing a one-of-a-kind 2.8 Jitney handbag.

The auction is in aid of the Musée du Louvre, with all proceeds going towards projects in support of the Musée du Louvre and The Louvre Studio, a new space that focuses on artistic and cultural education that’s set to open in fall 2021. In order to raise funds, luxury fashion labels and other art forms including Off-White™ are coming together in a Christie’s auction, with the Abloh-helmed label offering a truly custom homage-paying version of its 2.8 Jitney.

This handbag is inspired by the Louvre Pyramid and originally released in December 2019, and it has now been given a one-off makeover in honor of the Louvre. It is made from silver Italian calfskin leather and features custom artisanal applications of silver rectangular sequins, which come together to represent the sparkling nature of the pyramid structure and the surrounding City of Lights.

Furthermore, a 3D-embossed effect has been applied to the leather to further replicate the metal structure, while hardware has been finished in an apt shade of gray-silver. The lucky buyer will not just get the bag, but will also be given tickets to an upcoming Off-White™ runway show in 2021.
