mita sneakers, STUDIO SEVEN and New Balance Go Bold and Blue With New 850 Collaboration
Featuring flashes of hot red.

The Japanese sneaker boutique mita sneakers and its fellow fashion label STUDIO SEVEN has teamed up with New Balance once again on the 850.
STUDIO SEVEN, which is fronted by NAOTO of the successful Japanese pop group J SOUL BROTHERS from EXILE TRIBE, is known for its bold use of color blocking. Similarly, mita sneakers also isn’t afraid of going heavy with the color pot, however, it often decides to create a shoe with one core color. When combined, the duo delivers sneakers such as its previous New Balance 850 which combines the former’s bold choice of pink, blue, and lavender with the latter’s more sensible use of gray.
As expected, the new collaboration follows in a similar vein. A black mesh base is overlayed with blue suede — one part appearing smoother than the other to switch up the texture and, subsequently, the tone — while black leather has been added at the toe in contrast.
Alongside elements such as the navy blue midsole, you’ll find a navy blue mesh tongue and a navy blue leather heel that’s branded with black “NB” embroidery. STUDIO SEVEN’s application of color comes in the form of hot red, which details elements including the webbing heel loop, the tongue lining, the insole — which looks like a hazard tape print — as well as the tongue branding and a small line detail on the heel.
The mita sneakers x STUDIO SEVEN x New Balance 850 can be seen above, and is set to release on December 12. The pair will drop on mita sneakers’ website via a raffle and will cost ¥14,800 JPY (approx. $142 USD), excluding tax.
In other news, Randomevent and UNIK have teamed up for their own New Balance 2002R.
