Denim Tears has unveiled its newest “The Fight” collection – an apparel and accessories range that pays homage to Jack Johnson who was the first African-American boxer to be crowned heavyweight champion during Jim Crow-America in 1908. With Tremaine Emory as the imprint’s head honcho, the brand has made measurable efforts this year to launch products that speak to justice, social change, black empowerment and more, and this collection is simply another extension of that.

The range is comprised of various clothing articles including that of hooded sweatshirts, tees, and shorts, and is fittingly accompanied by a set of boxing gloves printed out with the same Pan-American flag graphics as the company’s Converse Chuck 70 collaboration that dropped this past fall. For the black hoodie and tee, the graphics brought to the table include that of a cartoon-like depiction of Johnson throwing a haymaker to the face of Confederate Clark — a fictional character dressed as Superman sporting a confederate flag across his chest. Fight night-inspired banners grace the entire back of these pieces. The bold and blue-dyed items are treated with Denim Tears branding printed out in Everlast-inspired font, and paired adjacent to boxing glove imagery. Rounding off the capsule is a white tee that features a black and white photo of Jack Johnson himself in fight mode with the Pan-American flag wrapped around his waist, as well as swim trunks stylized with the same print of the aforementioned gloves.

Peep a closer look at the products right here and expect them to launch via Denim Tears.

Elsewhere in the fashion realm, Supreme’s next batch of holiday tees have been unveiled.
