As we power through another week, HYPEBEAST has rounded up a carefully curated list of Music Projects You Missed This Week.
This selection includes a pair of collaborations from 박혜진 Park Hye Jin and Nosaj Thing, Little Dragon and Moses Sumney, tobi lou and Facer and Bakar and Lancey Foux. New singles from JAHMED and the Julian Casablancas-led group The Voidz also joins this week’s list, along with full-length projects from Q and Black Soprano Family’s Heem.
The Voidz – “Alien Crime Lord”
The Voidz, led by frontman Julian Casablancas, debuted their latest song “Alien Crime Lord” on GTA Online. The game’s latest “Cayo Perico Heist” update also features the new KULT FM 99.1 radio station hosted by Casablancas and featuring Mac DeMarco.

박혜진 Park Hye Jin x Nosaj Thing – “CLOUDS”
박혜진 Park Hye Jin and Nosaj Thing have teamed up to deliver the calming and hypnotic cut, “CLOUDS.” The track is marked as her first release since her June 2020 EP How can I, and closes out an exciting year for the young artist.

Little Dragon x Moses Sumney – “The Other Lover”
Joining forces for a stunning collab are Little Dragon and Moses Sumney, dropping off the synth-fuelled track “The Other Lover.” The track’s lyrics are taken from Little Dragon’s “Another Lover,” and hears calming vocals over stripped-back percussion. “I’ve been listening to Little Dragon for a very long time; as a teen, their first album impressed upon me just how infinite modern soul music can be,” Sumney said in a statement. “When they asked me to collaborate I was so honored and surprised (“shook,” as the kids say), that it took me a while to come around. They worked with me, egoless, to craft a new vision for their song. I’m proud of what we came up with.

JAHMED - ”FANTANO FREESTYLE”
JAHMED samples YouTuber and music critic Anthony Fantano on “FANTANO FREESTYLE,” a high-octane single that hears the rap newcomer spit over a thumping bassline and swinging percussion. The young artist is currently prepping to release his upcoming project Armani in 2021.

Q – The Shave Experiment
Florida artist Q Marsden’s latest EP, The Shave Experience, is a testament to his unique musicality as a multi-instrumentalist and his promising development as a producer. The self-taught musician also dropped off an intimate live performance of “Take Me Where You Heart Is,” featuring his father and fellow musician Steven “Lenky” Marsden.

tobi lou x Facer – “Cheap Vacations”
tobi lou revisited his 2019 project Live on Ice, sharing accompanying visual for the Facer-assisted cut, “Cheap Vacations.” lou portrays an airplane passenger and airport staff in the music video, and his two characters both experience an aviation accident from different perspectives. The clip ends with an unreleased track lou reveals as “Meter Shower (Acoustic).”

Heem – Long Story Short
Black Soprano Family signee Heem dropped off his debut project Long Story Short, tagging the likes of Benny The Butcher, Rick Hyde, Boldy James, the late DJ Shay and Jansport J for the 11-track project. “I feel like I’m at my best, in my prime right now and Long Story Short is my gift from God,” the young rapper said in a statement. “He put me here to a voice. It’s always a pleasure working beside my big bro Benny; he gave me all the game I need to be great.”

Bakar x Lancey Foux – “Play”
Bakar tagged fellow English artist Lancey Foux for the brand new cut “Play,” also sharing a visual that shows the duo riding around London with an old school video camera and a fisheye lens. “Lancey’s a great friend, we make lots of music together which I don’t do with many people and we felt that we should share this,” Bakar said in a statement. “I want to be free to put music out when it just feels right and this song feels like it belongs now. Our friends made the video, it’s just us living our lives in London, being free.“
