The Undertaker Officially Retires From WWE
After 30 years of being in the ring, “The Deadman” is ready to rest… “in peace.”
In October, it was rumored that The Undertaker would return for WWE‘s Survivor Series despite announcing his retirement during The Last Ride documentary. However, in a somewhat-expected turn of events, the legendary wrestler has officially confirmed his departure from the sport.
The Undertaker, whose real name is Mark William Calaway, is 55 years old and has been a part of WWE for the last 30 years. His legendary status follows years of success, but also because he was a unique character in the WWE universe, one which was popular for his macabre horror-themed aesthetic, spook-tactics, and “associations” with the supernatural world.
Appearing on the ring, The Undertaker said, “The time has come to let The Undertaker rest in peace.” The wrestler was emotional yet composed, standing tall (figuratively, but also literally as he measures 2.08m). You can watch The Undertaker’s final farewell above.
In other news, NFL’s Joe Burrow’s Rookie Season has come to an end following a knee injury.
