Contemporary Italian hiking footwear label ROA has returned for Fall/Winter 2020 with a standout selection of technical outdoors-inspired sneakers, boots, and hybrid footwear looks.

Known for its ability to combine a tactile avant-garde aesthetic with elements of sportswear and streetwear, ROA serves up nothing short of performance-driven yet excellently designed footwear this season. As per the brand’s signature look, each silhouette is paired to a hard-wearing Vibram sole unit that will help you tackle all kinds of terrain and battle typically challenging weather conditions.

Standouts in the FW20 collection include the Minaar — a low-top hiking sneaker crafted from techy neoprene featuring mesh panels and a buckle-fastening overlay. ROA’s mountainous logo appears on the front-quarter toe and similarly on the heel, and it has also been translated into being a carbon fiber element near the ankle where the strap is held in place.

Elsewhere, ROA presents the Lhakpa, which is arguably one of its most wearable designs to date. It serves much more as a typical sneaker, complete with retro-inspired design elements such as its nylon mesh weave upper mixing with a padded tongue, suede and leather panels, and more.

This season also brings a range of boot hybrids, such as the Teri, Daiquiri Mid, and Andreas. The Teri is made from bonded jersey and comes to the ankle, and is ROA’s most technical pair in the drop. It features a bonded and felted trim throughout, with rubberized elements on the toe, a partially concealed water-resistant zip closure, a padded mesh heel and more. The Daiquiri Mid is a returning favorite and this time around appears in a cream makeover. Rounding out the collection’s standouts is the Andreas, which offers waterproof kudu leather fused with insulating camouflage paneling for its upper.

Take a look at the ROA collection in the Thibaut Grevet-shot lookbook above, and find out more about where to purchase the shoes on ROA’s website.

In other news, Danner and Nanga have used sleeping bags to make these overboots.
