Reflecting upon nature.

Alex James‘ LA-based label PLEASURES is known for its grungey undertones, but this isn’t what has inspired the brand’s new ASICS GEL-NANDI OG collaboration.

Taking inspiration from exploring the great outdoors — which comes off the back of a year in which many of us have found ourselves in nature — PLEASURES looks to create an ASICS GEL-NANDI OG that is littered with trail design tropes all around.

For example, ripstop nylon is mixed with suede for a hardwearing and durable upper, while the use of iridescent materials on the ASICS mid-panel logo is meant to represent self-reflection in nature. Alongside this, you’ll find a mixture of earthy tones encompassing the suede and ripstop, as well as elasticated rope laces, a lace lock, and a quilted lining, which are served in a palette that echoes the transition of day to night.

GEL-NANDI branding on the tongue is contrasted by the block capital PLEASURES branding printed onto the toe box, while further ASICS branding can be found on the rear, rounding off the shoe’s look.

Check out the PLEASURES x ASICS GEL-NANDI OG above, and be sure to pick up a pair for yourself on December 4 on the PLEASURES website and at select ASICS retailers worldwide. The collaborative sneaker will cost $120 USD.
