Luke Meier’s OAMC and adidas Originals previewed their upcoming Type-O6 sneaker way back in January on Instagram and during the label’s Fall/Winter 2020 runway show, and now the duo is ready to release the ZX-inspired pair.

Releasing in four colorways, “Dust White,” “Black,” “Olive Drab,” and an OAMC-exclusive “Sand” offering, the Type-O6 follows on from the duo’s roster of retro-futuristic and often boundary-pushing designs — most notably, the recent FW20 silhouettes.

For its second seasonal drop, OAMC looks to adidas Originals’ archives and puts its creative energy into reimagining the ZX line, which is fitting seeing ZX is having its moment this year. In this continued exploration of lightweight technical design and the contrast between synthetic performance and natural materials, the duo offers a sneaker that’s familiar yet new, combining a ZX upper with new tooling.

The upper is made from premium leather and is complemented by a mesh panel on the mid. Webbing Three Stripes run over the top of the mesh, while more webbing can be found at the rear in the form of a heel tab. Decorative mesh netting sits inside the ZX heel cage, while a mixture of suede and mesh can be found on the heel. More suede has been used to line the top of the tongue, where a suede co-branded tab is also placed.

Rounding out the OAMC x adidas Originals Type-O6 is the small digital print on the lateral front quarter detailing the sneaker’s name, as well as its rope-toggle lacing system. A new sole unit completes the shoe, coming in the shape of four segmented pods that are rounded, contrasting the ZX midsole.

The OAMC x adidas Originals Type-O6 is set to drop on November 11 for $280 USD on adidas’ website — excluding the “Sand” colorway which will drop alongside the three other pairs on OAMC’s website. Take a closer look at the sneaker above.

In related news, the latest Craig Green x adidas Originals collection has been unveiled.
