Earl of East's BookWorkShop Is Your New Must-Visit Magazine Store
Situated in Coal Drops Yard, London.

London-based lifestyle brand Earl of East — which is known for not just its eponymous collection of candles and bath products but also for its varied range of homeware goods and fragrances — has announced the opening of its latest venture: BookWorkShop.
Earl of East BookWorkShop is situated directly opposite its flagship store at Coal Drops Yard in London, and has been developed with help from the furniture and interior design studio Fred Rigby. The store is sustainably made, featuring a repurposed scaffold shelving system that now serves as bespoke cobalt blue bookshelves in the BookWorkShop.
Furthermore, the store has been designed to be COVID-safe so that the space can be used to host various events and workshops. Inside BookWorkShop, you’ll find a selection of magazines spanning genres including indie, fashion, design, culture, architecture, travel and more. Partnering with Gestalten to curate its selection, the new space will sell titles such as Milk Magazine, Cereal, Lost In, Monocle, Frankie, Kinfolk, Fantastic Man, Apartamento, other independent titles and specials by Gestalten.
Speaking of the new store, Earl of East co-founder Paul Firmin said, “We believe in physical retail now more than ever. Nothing beats seeing a book or magazine in real-life, discovering a new scent, or having a conversation with someone in-store.”
Earl of East’s BookWorkShop is set to open in December as London’s lockdown rules ease. For those who can’t get to the store, check out its range of magazines and books on the Earl of East website.
In other news, PORTER is celebrating its 85th anniversary with an archive-referencing book.
