Following on from Craig Green‘s standout Spring/Summer 2021 collection presentation is the latest sneaker collection from the designer’s ongoing collaboration with adidas Originals. In this new delivery, the British visionary reworks classics such as the Superstar and the Rivalry, but also delivers the Kontuur III — the star of the show for Fall/Winter 2020’s second season.

The Kontuur III draws from the adidas Mundial Team football shoe — namely the sole unit. Appearing in “Core Black” or the green-toned “Legend Earth” colorways, the Kontuur III adds an upper that sports Green’s signature quilted design that’s tinted with metallic tones and accented by suede elements on the toe, heel, and eyestay. This pair is indebted by football boot design, as it is finished with an elongated tongue — itself co-branded and finished with “Mundial Team” naming — while the aforementioned quilting doubles-up as not just a nod to the designer, but also football boots.

Elsewhere, Craig Green and adidas Originals present the Rivalry Polta AKH. Dropping in “Cloud White/White Tint/Off White” and a full “Core Black” rendition, this pair takes the OG Rivalry sneaker and adds Green’s “Ghost Layer” tooling to it, much like the one found on his previous Boston Super and Samba sneakers.

The translucent overlayer reveals a print of an adidas shoe on the lining underneath, while molded TPU elements add three-dimensional effects to the upper in the form of Three Stripe branding, an eyestay panel, tongue detailing, and contours around the heel and toe.

Rounding out the collection are two new takes on the Superstar. Appearing in “Off White/Bright Red/Grey Three” and “Utility Black/Core Black/Green,” the designer has delivered the Superstar as we’ve never seen it before. Using a premium microsuede material for the upper, these Superstars are finished with an all-over contrast topstitched design that is meant to replicate the quilting and stitching found throughout his collections. A rubber cupsole with foxing tape, plus branding on the lateral and tongue, round out this pair.

Take a look at the entire Craig Green x adidas Originals second season collaborative collection in the galleries above. Everything is set to drop on November 7 on HBX and adidas’ website, with prices ranging from $220 USD to $250 USD.
