Back in October, we got a closer look at the upcoming NASA-themed adidas UltraBOOST 2020, and now a release has been put in place for the accompanying pair of UltraBOOST DNA 5.0 sneakers in “Football Blue/Royal Blue.”
adidas‘ pair features an all-blue woven Primeknit upper that’s intersected with dark blue segments that are used to add detail to areas such as the toe box and mid-panel. Cloudy TPU plastic is used for the Three Stripe-branded cage that extends up the shoe to simultaneously act as an eyestay placket, which soon leads the eye to the shoe’s more notable feature.
On the tongue, the UltraBOOST sports a large badge honoring the NASA Artemis program, which started in 2017 with the mission of “landing the first woman and the next man on the Moon.” The space theme is continued with the UltraBOOST-branded heel cup which appears in a light silver tone, which leads to the full-length BOOST sole unit that is also tinted in metallic silver.
Rounding out the pair is its now-signature Continental rubber outsole in black, which offsets the shoe all while providing plenty of grip.
Take a look at the adidas UltraBOOST DNA 5.0 “NASA” in “Football Blue/Royal Blue” above, and pick up a pair for yourself from stockists such as 43einhalb, where the sneaker will drop on December 1 for €159.95 EUR (approx. $190 USD).
