The trail, hiking, and climbing-indebted pair is inspired by the Three Stripes’ archives, taking influence from numerous outdoor-appropriate footwear styles to create something that looks as if it’s just stepped out of the 1990s. It does this thanks to its mixed-material upper — which combines mesh with Nubuck and climbing-spec stealth rubber — and because of its overall shape and design.
adidas Originals’ Sahale X uses the climbing stealth rubber for the full adiPRENE-supported sole unit and extends this onto the sidewalls, toe, and heel bumper, with the latter being graced with the adidas EQT logo. Webbing pull straps on the heel and tongue add to the overall utilitarian aesthetic.
Both colorways seen above are finished with tonal rope laces that are speckled with 3M detailing, and also come with an embroidered adidas logo on the tongue that, once more, makes this pair look truly retro.
adidas Originals will drop the Sahale X in “Gray/Black” and the accompanying dark red color at stockists such as Wood Wood for £130 GBP (approx. $172 USD) on November 19. Take a closer look at them both above.
In other news, Pharrell Williams and adidas Originals’ NMD Hu is dropping soon in a new brown colorway.
