Draping Elegance Permeates Maryam Nassir Zadeh's Debut Menswear Collection

The avant New York boutique is dipping into a new stylistic realm.

Maryam Nassir Zadeh has crafted stylish sandals and apparel for New York’s downtown trendsetters for years, sold by tastemaking retailers and the brand’s own minimalist Nolita storefront. For the first time, however, it’s branching out into menswear, sacrificing none of its clean lines and covetable cuts while adapting its purview to a male clientele for Spring/Summer 2021.

’90s suiting from the likes of Gianni Versace and Giorgio Armani are easy touchstones for MNZ’s new lineup, manifested in oversized blazers, high-rise slacks and boxy leather jackets. Even basic shirts and denim jeans are realized within that easygoing motif, cut with straight legs and updated in washed fabrics for an approachably soft appearance. Genderless items take on this timeless feel, with boxy T-shirts elevated by distressed graphic prints, V-neck sweater vests and wide shorts ideal for poolside lounging.

Maryam Nassir Zadeh’s web store and New York shop will launch the new collection early next year.

Similarly, clean lines inform the latest seasonal looks from John Lawrence Sullivan, Nanushka and Maison Kitsuné.
