Maison Mihara Yasuhiro Reconstructs Iconic Fila Pieces in "Brand New Classics" Capsule

Maison Mihara Yasuhiro and Fila have joined once again this season for a new collaborative capsule collection titled “Brand New Classics.” In this, the two look to Ivy League styles popular in the 1960s and switch this up with sensibilities taken from both of the collaborators’ aesthetics.

The result is a collection of garments that are typically sportswear-indebted, but are deconstructed in such a way that they are forward-thinking and modern. For example, Fila’s iconic funnel neck zip-up track jacket is served in heritage colors such as baby blue, white, and cream, but these colors find themselves smashed together on one piece in a patchwork paneled style alongside plenty of branding, piping, and touches of contrasting segments that add to the reconstructed look.

Elsewhere we see a cropped puffer jacket that’s printed all over with technical information, and there is also a cream peacoat that completely switches the direction of this collection. There are more familiar pieces, such as a teddy jacket finished with a co-branded Fila “F” patch on it, and a co-branded barrel bag.

Rounding out Maison Mihara Yasuhiro and Fila’s “Brand New Classics” is a selection of footwear. Shoes are available in black or cream and are cut high, sporting a chunky lugged sole unit, fat padded tongues with dual branding, and tonal details all around.

The Maison Mihara Yasuhiro x Fila “Brand New Classics” collection will be on sale at Maison Mihara Yasuhiro Omotesando Hills and Maison Mihara Yasuhiro Osaka on October 13, and will also be available online.

In other news, LN-CC is celebrating 10 years of business with exclusive capsule collections.
